Intro to Spoon Carving – 21st July 2019
Spoon carving is a fantastic introduction into green woodwork and one that can provide a lifetimes enjoyment. It is a fantastic skill to learn as it can be done anywhere, with few tools and very little space. On this course we will learn to carve a cooking spoon that you can use in your home using three tools; an axe, carving knife and a spoon knife.
As well as carving I will show you how to sharpen and look after your tools and also how I finish and decorate them. Although all tools and wood are provided, you are welcome to bring your own if you have them.
The venue is nestled in the heart of the woods, sheltered in a natural bowl and covered by a parachute, there is a steepish ten minute walk up to the venue so please bring suitable clothing and footwear for walking working outside under the trees all day.
Hot drinks and snacks will be provided but please bring a packed lunch for our break.
When: Sunday 21st July 2019 – 10.00am – 5.00pm
Where: Longway Bank Wood, Matlock DE4 5HS
Please note: This course is non refundable.
